We've covered bit map imagery and how to work with them in Flash, including importing them as a sequential series that can function as animation (refer to handout #3 in courses folder). We've made some START and STOP buttons using Action Scripting to attach them to movie clips and Animated Graphic symbols (refer to handout "Flash_Media01rev.). We'll be learning more ways to 'interact' with our art. In the meantime start thinking about other ways to think about buttons. Perhaps they are really gusts of wind... or the hand of Zeus. Imagine them as forces of nature, or machines that do things that cause other things to happen.
I hope everyone read the articles "Question Everything" and "Managing Change".

Just to keep things moving along, I've put a few of the handouts for my Animation class in the course folder. They cover the basic stuff concerning Graphic Symbols, Motion tweening etc. If you are not familiar with Flash at all they will be very useful. For this class I will move on to cover MOVIE CLIPS, BUTTONS and BASIC ACTION SCRIPTING. I'll have hand outs for these things as we go..
Please let me know what your thoughts, preferences and questions are concerning the syllabus.

Pick a Web site from the list below or find one on your own that you’d like to sample from. Deconstruct it’s button elements and then reinvent the interactivity using your own elements. You’re not building a whole site, just one page with similar interactivity as your referenced site. We’ll start this today and have it complete to hand in as homewk on Wed the 11th.
